Classes and Descriptions

A strength and balance class designed for people over 65 years to prevent falls and maintain muscle. Includes chair based and standing exercises. Each steady class includes a seated warm up, and a combination of seated and standing exercises done in a circuit. The exercises are all low-impact and are suitable for those who do not feel confident with their balance. This class is great for anyone wanting to feel stronger and more balanced while doing their daily activities.
Who is this for? - 65+ years. Caters for beginners. If you want to feel steadier on your feet, and maintain bone and muscle strength as you age, then this class if for you!

(formally known as our advanced strong & steady class).
A circuit style strength and fitness class to improve or maintain fitness, coordination, power, and strength. Each class includes a standing warm-up and a combination of seated, standing and lying down exercises done in a circuit. The exercises range from low to high impact and are suitable for those who can get down and up off the floor with no or minimal assistance. This class is great for those who want to improve their speed and coordination (such as early Parkinson’s) and those who want to really work on building their muscle and bone strength back up.
Who is this for? ages 50+ and fitness levels, must be able to get down and up off the ground without assistance.

(formally known as our abs & hips class with the addition of flexibility & relaxation exercises).
Combined strength and flexibility class focuses on improving abdominal, hips, and lower back strength and overall flexibility. We finish each class with a short, guided relaxation. Suitable for all ages. Please note: you must be able to get down and up off the floor without assistance.


Prost-FIT is an exercise programme designed specifically for men with prostate cancer, helping them become fitter and stronger to help manage their cancer journey. Involving both physical and cognitive elements, delivered in a supportive environment with an emphasis on fun and social interaction, Prost-FIT also offers camaraderie and opportunities for shared experiences. Having been been successfully trialed in Christchurch, a nationwide roll-out is underway, in association with programme developers Exercise as Medicine and selected providers. Funding may be available for those in financial hardship - please contact us for application details.


An exercise class for people living with dementia, and their support person. This is more than just an exercise class, it's a community. The aim of the class is to provide an enjoyable exercise class for people with dementia to help with their physical and social wellbeing. This class also gives carers/support people an opportunity to exercise too. The emphasis on this class is FUN, FUNCTION, FITNESS and FEELING GOOD.
